HLA Divisions

 

Humanitarian Division

Humanitarian Division Banner

Responsibilities

1. Implementation of a comprehensive survey for the required humanitarian services to be rendered,
    assess needs such as (foodstuff, medicine, medical supplies, necessary home furniture, others)
    each of which is depicted in a separate lists.

2. Identification of local and international relief organization operating within the Humus, scope of
    services provided within Humus and abroad, coordinate with such organizations in order
    to evaluate shortcomings.

3. Establishment of lists illustrating inhabitants in need of humanitarian services within Homs,
    if possible.

4. Building up a database for Humus inhabitants needing humanitarian services as well as
    those displaced to Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt and Libya as well as types of
    humanitarian services to be provided.

5. Opening of a branch, after obtaining a permission from competent authorities, in order to
    provide humanitarian services for those displaced to Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey,
    Egypt and Libya.

6. Appointment of permanent representative(s) for such branches within a monthly salary,
    after obtaining a permission from competent authorities.

7. Execution of swift communication with wholesalers, manufacturers and firms worldwide
    in order to secure such needs and ask them officially for donating whatever is possible in
    support of such humanitarian services extended by the Syrian Association.

8. Upon arrival of such donations, ensure temporary storage within every country indicated
    (as those who owns depots to extend their assistance by making such deports available
    for free storage) then transport the same to various locations depending of the needs
    of each location.

9. Ensure sufficient storage at every inhabited area that needs humanitarian services and
   distribute such supplies in professional manner based on electronic programs.
    Large depots are to be sought either as donations or symbolic rent.

10. Ensure FIRST-IN / FIRST-OUT for supplies and document activity using
      warehouse-management-system(s) that takes into consideration barcode.

  

Public Relations Division

.Public Relations Banner

This division is responsible for direct communication which aims to create a relationship
between 
the Syrian Association and other humanitarian relief organizations, charities,
government and 
national associations, local and international entities, universities and
educational institutions, 
manufacturer and firms as well as individuals, explain the
HLA objectives and persuade such 
entities and individuals to extend their support
financially, media and logistically.

Responsibilities 

1. Communicating with relatives and friends among Humus people who lives abroad in order to explain the
    HLA objectives and ask them to join the League using all communication means.
 

2. Opening of branches in Homs and some countries worldwide. 

3. Building up strategic relationships with local and international organizations to support the League. 

4. Rapid communication with various regional and international universities demanding scholarships for
    the League as well as significant discounts for students selected by the League.
 

5. Communicating with media agencies, newspapers, magazines and TV stations in order to
    introduce the League free of charge.
 

6. Representation of the League in international and official conventions. 

7. Planning of the HLA official events and coordination of the same with media agencies. 

8. Ensure proper coordination with the various division within the League.

Projects Division

Projects Banner

This division is responsible for the implementation of comprehensive studies for the various projects sponsored by the League, which is divided into three sections:

a.Small scale development projects in order to extend finance for Humus inhabitants with an aim to help them create job opportunities and improvement of living conditions. 

b.Various projects to be managed and implemented by the Association aiming to elevate hardship for Humus inhabitants. 

c.Diversified development projects that creates job opportunities as well as returns for the Association. 

Responsibilities 

1.Working out these three category projects and other useful schemes commercially, industrially, agriculturally and services relying on those who may have such viable ideas. 

2.Depicting such projects on paper, in brief, with adequate explanation for each project. 

3.Study comprehensively and professionally such projects including capital and manpower required, viability and other supporting data necessary. 

4.Mechanism(s) for implementing such project(s). 

5.Recommendations as to commencing and phasing-in. 

6.Designation of Executive Commission(s) for each project.  

Programs Division

Programs Banner

This division is responsible for studying various programs, formulation and implementation of the same in the areas of education, social, cultural, service and scientific with an aim to help the League to achieve its objectives, vision and mission. 

Responsibilities 

1.Communicating with relatives and friends among Humus people who lives abroad in order to explain the Syrian Association's objectives and ask them to join the Association using all communication means. 

2.Establishment of various programs and supervision of the same in order to achieve general goals of the Association. 

3.Coordination with other committees such as the public relations committee in order to select necessary programs that meets the Association's members and suites existing situation. 

4.Executing plans and mechanism necessary that facilitate adequate implementation of recommended programs. 

5.Determining programs' budgets and allocation of funds. 

6.Formulation of bylaws and regulations for such programs and activities. 

7.Exploiting such available installations, facilities and playfields to accommodate some programs. 

8.Ensure and maintain such forms, records and reports that assists the committee and submission of the same to the board of directors for review and approval. 

9.Prepare for the annual convention for the Association. 

10.Persuade and securing sponsors for such events and programs. 

Media Division

Media banner

This division is responsible for managing media affairs within the Association and externally, promote its objectives, vision and mission through available media means. Ensure proper image of the League. 

Responsibilities 

1.Communicating with relatives and friends among Humus people who lives abroad in order to explain the Syrian Association's objectives and ask them to join the Association using all communication means. 

2.Prepare and editing of medial materials including brochures, posters, leaflets and video clips… etc. 

3.Prepare and editing of news-releases for various media channels and electronic venues. 

4.Announcing the Association's activities throughout media channels and representing the Association in media conferences. 

5.Managing and monitoring of the Association website. 

6.Overseeing Association's pages and accounts on social electronic channels. 

7.Monitoring news related to the Association, publishing and documentation of the same. 

8.Archiving of medial materials and coverage of Association's events. 

9.Translation of the Association's news to various languages and publishing of the same. 

Students Affairs Division

Students banner

This division is responsible for managing students affairs, extend necessary care and orientation as to their academic endeavors in order to excel in various disciplines especially Human Sciences. 

Responsibilities 

1.Communicating with relatives and friends among Humus people who lives abroad in order to explain the Syrian Association's objectives and ask them to join the Association using all communication means. 

2.Survey the number of students in (elementary, intermediate, secondary and university) levels at the different geographical areas using the survey form. 

3.Delivery orientations for the students in terms of the importance of education and its role in human advancement, especially human sciences and management. 

4.Publishing and explaining in details the scholarships available for the students. 

5.Receiving and processing of scholarships requests and approval/disapproval of the same based on rigorous and professional standards. 

6.Communicating with the various universities through the public relations division as to scholarships and granting attractive discounts. 

7.Communicating, in continuous manner, with students granted scholarships in order to assess their educational progress. 

8.Coordination with the programs committee as to implementing periodic programs for students aiming to upgrade and enhance their capabilities. 

Financial Division

Finance Banner

This division is responsible for controlling and auditing of the Association's financial cash flows, expenditures mechanism and overseeing accounts.

Responsibilities 

1.Controlling of accounts and transactions as per recognized accounting principles and standards. 

2.Collection of monies of all kinds (subscriptions, donations, sponsors and projects' revenues) in coordination with competent committees. 

3.Initiation of monthly reports on the Association's financial position, implementing fiscal studies including income and expenditures as well as funds insufficiencies, if any.

4.Payment of amounts approved by the Association's board of directors. 

5.Managing petty cash. 

6.Preparation of annual general budget at the end of each fiscal year approved by external auditor thus to be reviewed by independent financial commission.

Registration Division

Registration Banner

This division is responsible for overseeing the members' registration processes, collection of annual subscription fees due by members.

Responsibilities 

1.Communicating with relatives and friends among Humus people who lives abroad in order to explain the Syrian Association's objectives and ask them to join the Association using all communication means. 

2.Build up database for all Humus people living abroad worldwide by geographical areas using the standard form and invite the same to join the Association. 

3.Process requests for memberships. 

4.Collection of subscription fees from members + donations and deliver the same to the finance division. 

5.Build up a database that reflect members' data in details using the standard form and maintain such in alphabetical order by family name. 

6.Submit to the board of directors and publishing of a monthly report on the website depicting members by name, number and any other notes necessary. 

7.Submit to the management and publishing of an annual report on the website depicting members by name, number and geographical area. 

8.Coordination with the Media Committee as to publish a directory that depicts, alphabetically, names of members, place of residency, business and professions in order to communicate with the same when necessary.

9.Monitor electronic registration on the website. 

10.Study the possibility of issuing a magnetic card for members that illustrate the member name and photo and the cost of such project.
